Customer Payment Terms

Last updated: June 18, 2026

These terms apply when you use a Texty payment link to pay a business (for example a tradesperson, shop or service provider — the "Business") for goods, services or work. Please read them before you pay.

The Texty payment page is provided by Texty Technologies Ltd (company number 17274662, registered office 102 Willmott Road, Sutton Coldfield, United Kingdom B75 5NW — "Texty", "we", "us"). You can contact us at [email protected].

1. What Texty is — and isn't

Texty provides the technology that lets the Business send you a payment request and take your payment. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, our payment provider.

Texty is not the Business, and is not the seller of the goods, services or work you are paying for. Your agreement for that work is directly with the Business. Texty does not carry out the work, supply the goods, set the price, or have any responsibility for the quality, safety, timing or completion of what you are paying for. If you have a question or problem with the work itself, you should contact the Business directly.

2. Paying

2.1 When you open a Texty payment link, you'll see the amount requested and a short description provided by the Business. Check that these match what you have agreed with the Business before you pay.

2.2 You can pay:

  • in full by debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; or
  • • where offered, by Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) — splitting your payment into instalments (see clause 3).

2.3 Your card payment is processed by Stripe. By paying, you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method for the amount shown. Texty does not see or store your full card details — these are handled securely by Stripe.

2.4 After a successful payment you'll receive an email receipt.

2.5 The money you pay goes to the Business (through Stripe), not to Texty. Texty receives a fee from the Business for use of the platform, but Texty does not hold your payment.

3. Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL)

3.1 If you choose BNPL, your instalment plan is provided by a third-party credit provider (such as Klarna or Clearpay), not by Texty.

3.2 Texty is not a lender and does not provide credit. Any BNPL agreement is between you and the credit provider, on that provider's own terms. The provider will tell you the instalment amounts, dates, any fees or charges, and the consequences of missing a payment. Please read the provider's terms carefully before choosing BNPL, and only borrow if you can afford the repayments.

3.3 Eligibility for BNPL, and any credit check, is decided by the credit provider — not by Texty or the Business.

4. Refunds and problems with your payment

4.1 Refunds are issued by the Business, not by Texty.Because Texty does not hold your money, we cannot issue a refund ourselves. If you're entitled to a refund (for example because of a problem with the work, or your legal rights), please contact the Business. The Business can process a refund to your original payment method through Stripe.

4.2 If you paid using BNPL, any refund or adjustment is handled through the credit provider's process — contact the Business in the first instance, and the credit provider if needed.

4.3 You keep all of your legal rights against the Business, including any rights you have as a consumer (for example under the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Nothing here affects those rights.

4.4 If you don't recognise a payment, or think a payment was taken in error, contact your card provider or Stripe, and let the Business know.

5. Using the payment page properly

You must only use a Texty payment link to make a genuine payment that you have agreed with the Business. You must not use it fraudulently or for any unlawful purpose.

6. Privacy

Texty processes some of your personal data (such as your name, contact details and payment information) to provide the payment page and send your receipt. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy. Stripe and any credit provider also handle your data under their own privacy policies.

7. Our responsibility to you

7.1 We provide the payment page with reasonable care and skill. But because Texty is only the technology layer:

  • • we are not responsible for the goods, services or work you are paying for, or any dispute with the Business about them;
  • • we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Business, Stripe or any credit provider; and
  • • we are not responsible for the payment page being unavailable, or for problems caused by matters outside our reasonable control.

7.2 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. None of these terms affects your statutory rights.

8. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. We may update them from time to time; the version that applies is the one shown when you make your payment. If anything in these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continues to apply.
